TAMARIND OF LONDON TO HOST TRUE SIOUX HOPE FOUNDATION WELCOME RECEPTION

As an introduction to the Orange County community, True Sioux Hope Foundation will be holding a welcome reception at Tamarind of London, a contemporary Indian restaurant in the Crystal Cove Shopping Center of Newport Coast, on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Founded in 2014 by American Indian Twila True, True Sioux Hope Foundation serves as a fundraising vehicle to provide grants and funding to highly vetted organizations already in place and well equipped to deliver the life-saving resources needed for the Lakota Sioux Tribe of the Pine Ridge Reservation to not only survive, but thrive.

The Pine Ridge Reservation is the second largest Native American Reservation in the U.S and the poorest place in the nation, with staggering statistics that include a 90 percent unemployment rate, 70 percent high school dropout rate, average life expectancy of 47 years old for men, average annual household income of $3,500, and the highest infant mortality rate in the world.

To combat this, True Sioux Hope Foundation has identified three key pillars to inspire unprecedented, permanent, positive change: sustainability, education and immediate assistance. At the reception, Lakota Sioux Tribe member and founder of True Sioux Hope Foundation, Twila True, will be presenting her vision to make impactful change for the Lakota Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. Having spent her formative years on reservations, True knows first-hand the courage that it takes to become a strong, independent, modern American Indian.

Orange County community members can facilitate progress toward change for the Lakota Sioux Tribe by rallying together at Tamarind of London for this special eye-opening event. Driven to lend its support after learning about the nonprofit’s mission to help an entire Native American population living in conditions equivalent to those found in the poorest third world countries, Tamarind of London will be hosting a reception free to the public providing light appetizers throughout the evening from its diverse and innovative menu.

Please join us next month at Tamarind of London to help facilitate progress toward a better and brighter future for this endangered community. For more information, or to RSVP, please emailtshf@boltpr.com.
